The only way to project 30 to 40 years into the future is to make a number of assumptions based on our current understanding of the retirement industry and the investment markets. Actual future events are bound to be different to the assumptions we made, and this will affect the projected figures. The projections can therefore not be guaranteed. It is merely our best view of the future. Members are therefore encouraged to take guidance from these illustrative values but should run a fresh calculation regularly, at least every other year, to track their progress.
2. Do the PPR projections constitute financial advice?
No. The calculator is merely a self-help planning tool offered by the trustees of the retirement fund to their members to help them plan for retirement.
